The Idaho Smoke ‘n’ Fire 400 is a 400ish mile self-supported mountain bike route traversing some of Idaho’s diverse geography on two-track, big gravel and dirt Forest Service roads, singletrack and some paved roads.
The 2nd annual event will begin (and end) in downtown Boise, Idaho in historic Hyde Park on Wednesday, September 9th at 6:00am.
There is no registration fee, no support and no prize money. SPOT tracker use is not mandatory, but encouraged and live tracking of the event will be provided by Trackleaders.
The Smoke ‘n’ Fire route travels through remote areas, however, there are sufficient resupply opportunities available. Besides the physical challenge there are mental challenges to this route and it is also a great test of your bikepacking kit and gear.
This is a self-supported event so please read the rules and be prepared for the unexpected.
